A bridge collapsed in southern China just eight years after its completion.

The video was filmed in the city of Hezhou in Guangxi Zhuang
Autonomous Region in the evening of February 19.

Another clip shows how the bridge looked before it collapsed.

According to reports, the west side of the Butou Bridge which was approximately 5 or 6 metres from the bridge deck collapsed at around 9 pm local time.

The cause of the collapse is currently under investigation by relevant departments. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported.

The site of the collapsed section of the bridge has been cordoned off and neither pedestrians nor vehicles could pass through.

The Butou Bridge reportedly began construction at the end of 2009 with an investment of 14.33 million yuan (£1,700,000) and it was completed and opened for traffic in July 2015.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
