Manatee conservationists released a record number of 12 manatees back into the sea at Blue Spring State Park, Florida on February 13 after their successful several-year-long rehabilitation.

Most of these adorable animals were rescued as orphans, malnourished, and starving. The animals will be tracked with GPS devices for the next year to study how they adapt to their natural habitat without their mothers' guidance.

Blue Spring State Park is known for its famous Volusia Blue Spring, which has become one of the largest winter gathering sites for the manatee species in the area.
