A farmer's cow was rescued after it fell down a 10-foot-deep well in Thailand.

The animal had been grazing in a field in Phayao province on February 10 but slipped down the hole near tall grass.

Owner Thorn Kawewcharn, 60, found the cow stuck when it disappeared from where he had released it. He called the Subdistrict Administrative Organisation to help rescue the livestock.

Authorities had to use backhoes to widen the opening as it was too narrow. They then secured the hefty farm animal with ropes and pulled it out with the heavy machinery.

The cow was safely returned to its caretaker without any injuries.
