The activist group Friends of Friendship Park called on President Biden to halt the construction of an addition to the already existing border wall, seen on February 20.

The group says the new wall will further divide Friendship Park making it impossible for families to see each other. Friendship Park is a binational park with half of it in Mexico and the other half in the United States. Originally inaugurated by First Lady Pat Nixon, Friendship Park has been a place for family members to see each other from either side of the border, but now, activists say, the new wall will make it impossible for people to see each other. The current wall is 18-feet high and the new wall will be 30-feet tall.
