A clingy pet dog snuggled with a monk while he chanted prayers at a Buddhist ceremony.

The fluffy brown pooch attempted to sit on the orange-robed man's lap but he was busy with the activity at Ban Khok Suk temple in Lopburi province, Thailand on February 5.

Adorably, the sweet dog just contented itself with sleeping alongside the monk and laying its head on his right lap.

Footage shows the dozy creature napping while sounds of Buddhist chants filled the room. Soon after, the creature fell asleep while his beloved monk friend prayed with his eyes closed.

Temple-goer Bas Parinya Nangtarat said: ‘I admire the monk for not being annoyed while doing an important religious function. They were so cute together.'

After the ceremony, the dog was seen running around happily and eating lunch together with the monks.

Bas added: ‘He was like a little toddler that wanted the attention from his parents. He was really adorable.'
