Pet dog trapped in burning building carried on cherry picker and revived with CPR
A pet dog trapped in a burning building was carried to safety on a cherry picker crane and revived with CPR by firemen.
The black pooch was with two other pets and their owners when the blaze erupted from the paint storage rooms of a hardware shop in Pathum Thani province, Thailand on February 22.
They escaped to the rooftop of the three-storey building, fighting their way through thick suffocating smoke until emergency responders arrived.
Footage shows toxic fumes billowing from the building while firefighters rushed to reach the top on a cherry picker.
The rescuers carried the weak dog in the crane bucket before it descended outside the building where medics were waiting. In another clip, the pooch was given pressure on the chest and taken on a stretcher before being administered an IV bag for dehydration.
Firemen Lotte Sohot from the Rom Sai Rescue Foundation said: ‘There were four people in the building and three dogs. The dogs choked on thick smoke and it was very hot inside the building.'
Three residents and two other dogs were saved including the one given CPR. The survivors were rushed to a hospital with an ambulance.
Lotte added: ‘We used about 2,000 litres of water to control the fire. There were many flammable materials inside. We are hoping for the survivors' fast recovery.'
