The Indian army officers with the help of civil administration helped evacuate two pregnant women and helped them get medical access in northern India's Jammu and Kashmir.

The women, who were in critical condition, were airlifted from the isolated Nawapachi area to Kishtwar town in the eponymous district on February 22.

Visuals showed the officials carrying the two women on their shoulders before taking them in a helicopter. The area witnesses harsh winter where the connectivity via road is cut off due to the closure of the land route from the South Kashmir side owing to heavy snowfall.

The two women were then admitted to the District Hospital where they are undergoing treatment.

Apart from conducting terrorist operations, the Indian army has always provided humanitarian assistance to the people who live in difficult conditions in the winter. The people too have expressed their gratitude towards the army for their help in times of need.
