Rescuer teams searched for missing miners after a coal mine collapsed in northern China.

Video filmed in Alxa League in Inner Mongolia on February 22 shows tents being set up and 18 loaders, 33 excavators, and 105 transport vehicles being deployed at the site.

According to reports, the death toll increased to five. Six people were injured and 48 are still missing.

2月22日13时12分，内蒙古阿拉善盟孪井滩生态移民示范区辖区内蒙古新井煤业有限公司煤矿西采区边坡坍塌，造成现场多名作业人员和车辆被埋。现场视频显示，采矿区为山谷， 整个山体坍塌覆盖了底部。
经核实，失联人员59人，截至23日15时40分，事故已造成5人死亡、6人受伤、尚有48人失联。
截至23日11时，已出动救援器械车辆156台（辆），到位救援队伍19支、救援人员919名、安全生产专家19名。动用了18台装载机、33台挖掘机、105辆运输车，开展坍塌土方清运、作业面拓展等工作。同时，应急照明，移动通信等措施均已到位，各类物资正在积极调配中，确保24小时开展救援。
