Chinese man arrested after smashing previous employer's Mercedes-Benz with axe
A man was arrested as he smashed his previous employer's Mercedes-Benz with an axe after drinking in southern China.
Video filmed in the city of Haikou in Hainan Province on February 23 shows a man named Wu using an axe to smash a parked vehicle.
According to reports, Wu had previously worked for the vehicle owner as a transportation provider. However, after suffering injuries in a traffic accident, he had a dispute with the owner over medical expenses.
Wu reportedly entered the off-road vehicle owner's store with a long-handled axe and proceeded to smash the room's glass and computer equipment after drinking. He then damaged a truck and an off-road vehicle.
Police arrived at the scene and arrested Wu. No one was injured.
Wu is now being detained on suspicion of causing a disturbance.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
