Chinese man witnesses and recorded flocks of wild geese flying in strange formation
A man witnessed and recorded flocks of wild geese flying past in a strange formation in central China.
Video filmed in Yichang, Hubei, China on Feb 21 shows wild geese honking and flying over the sky in murmuration.
Mr. Yang, the filmer, said he has never seen anything spectacular and the whole process lasted a few minutes.
The shooting date happens to be the Dragon Head Raising Day, which falls on the 2nd day of February in the Chinese calendar.
Ancient Chinese people regarded the Dragon Head Raising Day as a festival to pray for good weather, and ward off evil spirits and disasters. Many netizens associate the murmuration with the festival.
The wild goose is a second-class protective animal in China.
