There is a group of people in the city of Padang, West Sumatra, Indonesia, buying trash or used goods belonging to the community by paying in gold. This activity has been carried out by a group known as the Panca Daya Garbage Bank since 2017. Until now, the total gold that has been paid to the public has reached 240 grams of gold or IDR 240 million. Almost all the trash was bought, except for broken glass and diapers.

In selling this gold-turned waste, it's not just collecting waste or used goods, and then selling them back to the used goods collectors. But the Panca Daya Garbage Bank also manages the waste into valuable crafts or products. Such as bags made from used plastic, glasses made from used bottles, and candles made from used oil. These products are made from the hands of housewives who have been fostered by the Panca Daya Waste Bank
