Humpback whales feeding in the port of Hafnarfjörður in Iceland
Humpback whales have been feeding in the port of Hafnarfjörður in Iceland, where they seem to find plenty of food. The whales are having a good time in the harbor, and the harbor guard advises people to enjoy being up close with the visitors. There seems to be plenty of food, and three animals, one large and two smaller, have regularly visited the harbor to grab food in the last few days, much to the delight of the surrounding birds.
The oldest residents of Hafnfjörður do not remember earlier visits by these majestic creatures, says a harbor guard interviewed by the news agency. He is not worried that the visitors will disturb the traffic of ships in the harbor - it is best to enjoy the visitor corridor while it is possible.
Humpback whales are usually thirteen to seventeen meters long, and the males can weigh up to 40 tons.
