Florida's Fort Myers Beach, US, continues to struggle to recover after Hurricane Ian demolished homes and killed 109 people in 19 counties.

This drone footage shows the wreckage of many homes, hotels and other businesses, destroyed by the hurricane. Many structures have been razed and removed, while others still sit open to the elements with debris piled up around them.

Workers are rebuilding and repairing some of the structures but many remain untouched.

The filmer explained: "The island was noted for being home to the wealthy and those of modest means. But the storm has called into question whether affordable housing can be rebuilt on the island and whether many long-time residents will be able to afford what's sure to be a spike in insurance costs. There's a great concern that ultimately the island will become an enclave for the wealthy alone who can afford to live there".
