A suspected Thai drug dealer has been arrested despite multiple plastic surgeries to make him look like a Korean pop star.

'Sung Jimin', 25, also known as Saharat Sawangjaeng, was arrested at a condominium in Bangkok, Thailand, on February 23 for allegedly importing and selling MDMA in the country.

Saharat was accused of smuggling 2,575 grams of MDMA and 290 ecstasy pills in a jigsaw puzzle box from Europe in November.

An arrest warrant was issued for him last December 2, but cops failed to track him down until this month.

Police arranged a sting operation, with an undercover agent pretending to be interested in working as Saharat's drug courier.

During their dealings, the reported drug lord let slip that he was staying at an upmarket condominium in Bangkok, allowing police to raid his location.

As officers barged into his room to make the arrest, however, they were astonished to find a 'handsome Korean man' behind the smuggling operations.

Saharat had undergone multiple plastic surgeries, altering his face to look like a Korean K-pop idol to try and avoid detection.

Past mugshots apparently from three other arrests show Saharat's dramatic transformation from an acne-riddled young man to a head-turner with a higher nose bridge and sharper jawline.

Cops seized from his condo 22 items, believed to have been used in ordering drugs from other countries.

Saharat has allegedly admitted to drug smuggling and said he changed his name and face because he 'was bored with his life in Thailand and wanted to start over in South Korea,' despite not being fluent in the Korean language.

He also claimed that he learned how to smuggle MDMA through the dark web, paying with cryptocurrency before selling the drugs to clients in and around Bangkok.

He said he has global connections for his drug supply, but he usually bought from the Netherlands.

He also blamed one of his accomplices for the discovery of the 2.5-kilo MDMA parcel that led to his arrest.

Police Major General Theeradech Thamsuthee, commander of the Metropolitan Police Investigation, said: 'In this case, the suspect is only 25 years old but he was already at a top level for importing narcotics from Europe.

'We believe there are more suspects in foreign countries. We will continue our investigation.'

Saharat is detained in police custody and was charged with importing and selling a category one narcotic, endangering the security of the state and public safety.
