Israeli bulldozers demolish a Palestinian-owned house in Jabal al-Mukabber neighborhood southeast of Jerusalem, under the pretext it was built without a permit on Tuesday (February 28).
Staff from the Israeli municipality of West Jerusalem today demolished, under protection from Israeli forces, a Palestinian-owned house in Jabal al-Mukabber neighborhood, southeast of occupied Jerusalem, under the pretext it was built without a permit.
The Israeli municipality handed Ihab Hussaini an order to demolish his house in the middle of this month and gave him 21 days to carry out the demolition by himself, or its crews would demolish it and force the owner to pay the demolition costs. Hussaini refused to self-demolish his house, built in 2017, hoping that the demolition will not be carried out.
The Israeli municipality forced the Hussaini family since then to pay two fines, each in the amount of 45,000 Israeli shekels (app. $12,000), which were paid by the family.
