Woman doesn't hesitate to rescue girl who fell over on escalator in China
A woman ran to rescue a girl that fell down on an escalator at a mall in northern China.
CCTV footage filmed in the city of Qinhuangdao in Hebei Province on January 31, shows a girl attempting to step onto an escalator going up before suddenly tumbling down.
A woman on another escalator going down next to it spotted the incident and left her 5-year-old daughter to save the girl.
Fortunately, the girl only suffered minor injuries to her forehead. The woman later handed the girl over to her parents.
According to reports, the woman who rescued the girl is a police officer named Li Dongxue. She was about to go back home with her daughter after having dinner in the shopping mall when she saw the incident.
In another clip, Li explains: "When I saw the child fall, my first instinct was to go and protect her because I am also a mother. I feel relieved after I picked her up and found that she was not seriously injured."
The video was provided by local media with permission.
