A Good Samaritan uses his own money to fix damaged roads in Vietnam.

The kind man, who locals fondly called ‘Uncle Dan,' travels along the same route daily on his modified pushcart in Vinh Long province.

After selling lottery tickets in the morning, he will buy cement and continue his day looking for more potholes to fill.

Footage shows Uncle Dan pushing his rolling cart full of construction material with one leg. Whenever he finds damage or holes on the streets, the disabled man pulls over to repair them.

A resident said: ‘He uses what little he earns to buy the materials. He is an exceptional citizen.'

The resident added that the old man started to fix potholes after an incident with a loved one.

He said: ‘He was taking a pregnant relative who was about to give birth to the hospital but the road was too bumpy. They were delayed and the mother almost lost the baby.

‘Maybe the traumatic experience left its mark on him so he didn't want it to happen again.'
