Below the belt! Angry homeowner takes revenge on villagers by hanging underwear outside house
A furious homeowner took revenge on residents for a failed real estate sale by hanging underwear at a village entrance in Thailand.
The undergarments fluttered gently in the wind like festive banderitas as they welcomed visitors to the village in the Bang Phli District of Samut Prakan province.
Residents have become familiar with the bizarre sight, which has been on display for more than a year now.
A security officer for the village said that authorities had negotiated a deal with the land owner two years ago to purchase the lot for use as the village's entrance.
However, the deal fell through, and the rows of undergarments have been hanging triumphantly outside the house ever since.
A passing truck driver who frequently plied the route told local reporters that he had always wondered why the underwear was left hanging there for so many months. He added that he felt uncomfortable seeing the private clothing articles in broad daylight.
Meanwhile, a fruit vendor said he was grateful that the underwear was hung on private land, instead of public property where villagers had to pass below.
Residents said the land owner lives alone, with neighbours staying well away to avoid incurring their wrath.
