This Thailand-Myanmar border reopening has allowed much-needed supplies to reach Burmese people
The northern border was closed for almost three years until last week because of Covid then military action in Myanmar (Burma). Hundreds of vehicles, mostly minibuses, are queued up from dawn till dusk to transport all sorts of goods from Mae Sai to Tachileik across the Friendship Bridge. Only Thais and Burmese are currently permitted to cross.
There's a military presence on both sides.
