Archaeologists in Saudi Arabia have discovered 2,000-year-old artifacts at the Al-Ukhdood site in Najran, including three gold rings and a bronze bull's head that pre-date the region's Islamic period.

The rings are decorated with flower petals and delicate stems, and are thought to date from the 3rd century BC.

The discovery also includes a slab with the longest inscription ever found from the pre-Islamic era in the country. The Saudi Heritage Authority described the finds as "rare" and "exciting" and confirmed they shed light on ancient civilisations in the southern region of the Arabian Peninsula.
