Tourists were shocked by a water leak covering a walkway at an airport in Bangkok.

Passengers had just landed and were walking towards the baggage collection and arrivals areas when they encountered the slippery soapy floor.

Footage shows the water pouring from the ceiling as passengers scurried to get out of the way at the Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) on March 1.

Onlookers said they were 'surprised' by the shoddy maintenance at the capital city's airport, which opened in 1914 and still has tatty retro 1980s-style decor in parts of the building.

The state-run airport was the main aviation hub for the country until the Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) opened on the outskirts of t he capital city in 2006.
