Highest number of motorcycle users found to be in Thailand
Thailand has topped the list for 'countries with the highest motorbike use' according to an online geography resource.
WorldAtlas, citing the Pew Research Center, reported that 87 per cent of households in Thailand owned at least one motorbike.
Following Thailand was Vietnam at 86 per cent, Indonesia at 85 per cent, and Malaysia at 83 per cent.
Also included were China, India, Pakistan, Nigeria, the Philippines, and Brazil.
WorldAtlas noted that most countries included were developing nations, where cars are considered less accessible compared to the cheaper motorcycle.
Two-wheelers are also more mobile in these countries that regularly deal with heavy traffic and challenging road conditions.
Meanwhile, the website BikesRepublic ranked Thailand as the most dangerous for motorcycle users, with 74.4 per cent road accidents involving motorcycles.
