Houses submerged as monsoon rains cause heavy floods in Malaysia

Homes were submerged after heavy rain hit Malaysia on Wednesday.

The properties in the Endau-Rompin national park village were inundated with floods as rain battered the region on March 1.

Footage shows muddy floodwater reaching up to the roofs of homes.

Malaysia's Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre issued flood warnings for Johor and Pahang on February 28.

Local media reported that as of March 2, more than 27,000 people have been evacuated in the states of Johor, Pahang, Negeri Sembilan, and Melaka due to floods caused by the northeast monsoon.
