A category 4 Cyclone Kevin passed over Port Vila, the capital of Vanuatu on Friday, March 3, and was moving across the southern island province of Tafea on Saturday morning, bringing wind gusts over 230km/h, according to the country’s meteorology department.

A state of emergency was declared, and the prime minister, Ishmael Kalsakau, said officials were working to assess the damage.
