'We didn't want to say goodbye forever' Aussie couple rescues stray dog

My partner and I went for a 2 week holiday from Australia to Boracay in the Phillipines, on the first day we got there we came across a very scared little female dog. She would come near us, we’d have to throw her food for her to eat, as the trip went on we went looking for her every day and brought her food, a few days in she would eat from our hands and then a few more days we could touch her and then nearing the end of the trip she would fall asleep in our arms. Then we found out really bad news, we were told there are dog catchers that roam the beaches every week and take dogs, lock them up for a whole week without food or water, then if they aren’t dead yet then try why give them the needle and put them down.

Once we found this out we did research and found a non for profit company on the island over called AARRC, they take care of many dogs and cats. we got hold of the founder and took “SUEY” there the following day. Once we returned from our day trip to save Suey the locals told us 30 minutes after we left the island dog catchers came and caught many dogs from the beach, we saved young Suey from dying that day and we have now adopted her and she’s going through a 10 month process to get her home to us in Australia.
