An unconscious squirrel rescued from burning electric cables was revived with CPR.

The rodent crawled along a power line when it exploded and injured the creature in Bangkok, Thailand on February 24.

It was badly burned and passed out from injuries before falling over to the ground, where onlookers rushed to save it.

Footage shows a resident applying pressure on the creature's chest as it lay motionless on a pink cloth.

Despite the squirrel refusing to move, the Good Samaritan did not give up on the animal and continued massaging its body.

Moments later, the squirrel squirmed like it was gasping for air, appearing in a state of shock as the woman calmed it down by massaging its forehead with her thumb.

The kind residents gave the squirrel milk, banana, and water before it dashed away and returned to a nearby tree.

Resident Aunyada Thanimwas said: ‘We heard a blast coming from the transformer and the squirrel fell. We thought it was dead but it twitched.

‘We were hopeful that it would survive. We were so glad when it did. Every life is important.'
