In a shocking incident, an unknown man stole the Gospel and the crucifix from the Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh on the Petrograd side in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The theft took place on March 3, and the damage amounted to just over 383.5 thousand rubles (about $5,000).

Upon entering the church, the man crossed himself and stood in front of the icon for a while before calmly putting the Gospel and the crucifix into his bag and leaving.

The Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh is known for its rich history and beautiful architecture. It is considered to be one of the most important places of worship in the area, and the theft has left the community shaken.

The issue of initiating a case is being decided, and the suspect is currently being searched for.
