The police successfully uncovered an attempt to smuggle thousands of lobster seeds and arrested three suspects in Pesisir Barat Regency, Lampung. The lobster seeds were planned to be sent abroad and could cause state losses of more than 1 billion rupiah.

The Criminal Investigation Unit of Pesisir Barat Police, Lampung, managed to arrest three lobster seed smugglers in Bengkunat Sub-district. The three suspects identified as DS, JS, and FI, were collectors who would send the lobster seeds to other provinces in Lampung and then to overseas.

From the hands of the three suspects, the police found at least 6,610 lobster seeds that had been put in clear plastic bags. The types of lobster seeds found were, among others, sand lobster seed, jarong lobster seed, and pearl lobster seed. In total, the state losses due to this smuggling attempt amounted to more than 1 billion rupiah.

The Chief of Pesisir Barat Police Resort, Ajun Komisaris Besar Polisi Alsyahendra, mentioned that from the results of the investigation, the suspects admitted to have been smuggling lobster seeds for the past year. They purchased the lobster seeds at a low price from local fishermen.

Currently, the police are still developing this case. Meanwhile, the three suspects who have been detained in Pesisir Barat Police Resort are facing 8 years of imprisonment.
