A wild koala wandered inside a convenience store and jumped on a worker's leg in Australia.

The friendly bear casually entered through the front door like a customer and walked past the shelves in Adelaide Hills, South Australia.

It explored aisles of fizzy drinks, chips, and candies before reaching the back of the counter, locking a staff's leg in a tight bear hug.

Footage shows the koala at the back of the store. It seemingly stopped to observe the strange place momentarily before becoming clingy to one of the workers.

An amused employee could be heard laughing and saying to his colleague: ‘I don't know how to get him off.'

Onlooker James Paparella, who recorded the video, said: ‘The koala wandered inside. He tried to make friends with the staff. Such an adorable creature.'

The koala reportedly spent almost 40 minutes browsing food inside the store before Koala Rescue Inc arrived to evacuate her.

It was released in a forest about 500 metres away from the shop.
