A hero mum saved her two-year-old son from falling over a stair rail.

Myra Minoza had just arrived home with the little boy Lucio after a paediatrician visit when the incident happened in Batangas city, the Philippines on March 3.

The mother-of-one thought Lucio was closely following behind her, but only seconds after she stepped inside the house, the youngster could be seen clambering on the steel structure.

CCTV footage shows the toddler clinging to the rails before a terrified Myra darts out the door to take her son.

Mother Myra said: ‘We just got back from therapy because my son was diagnosed with autism. I closed the gate, and he was playing with clay.

‘He threw it downstairs and we promised to take it together after we put our stuff down inside the house. I thought he was with me but when I turned my back he wasn't there.'

Myra hurried out of the house and saw that the little boy already had one of his legs dangling on the railing.

She added: I didn't shout because I didn't want to scare or startle him. I just rushed to him to hold him safely.'

Myra hugged her son while glancing down at the 10ft-drop that could have injured the child.

She said: ‘I will never let him out of sight after that. I was out of breath, and my knees were shaking. He kissed me when he noticed I was still in shock. I asked him not to climb it again.'
