A resident in Cookstown, Northern Ireland, used a drone to capture a wall of snow engulfing the countryside as the UK braces for a cold snap.

Footage from March 7 shows a vast cloud formation rolling towards the drone.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice across Northern Ireland as temperatures are expected to fall below minus 5 degrees Celsius.

Drone footage today during the start of a cold spell affecting UK and Ireland this week, this is an isolated snow shower with a curtain of hail and snow falling over the N. Ireland countryside, I was able to use the zoom function on my new drone to isolate the snow curtains falling. This is the start of a major change in weather, two days from now a major frontal snow event could cause disruption.
