A number of Merseyside Matrix police in marked and unmarked vehicles operating far from home in Newquay Cornwall. members of the public were surprised to witness an action double car stop on busy Mountwise road in the town. At least one police impounded vehicle is seen being loaded onto a transporter. A white male was seen on his knees being handcuffed by officers. The Matrix teams were formed in Liverpool in response to faction based criminality (gangs), County lines drug operations and cash in transit robberies. One of the marked Matrix vehicles clearly states County lines response team. The Matrix teams are organised into syndicates with an inspector, sergeant and constables who operate with other syndicates as required. The Matrix teams rely heavily on intelligence and focus on tracking vehicle moves believed to be suspect. This operation is believed to be in conjunction with Devon and Cornwall police.
