A snake wrangler caught an aggressive spitting cobra after it slithered into a wet market in Thailand.

Snake expert Ratha Tapianthong was called to the market in Ang Thong province after terrified vendors spotted the deadly 6ft long serpent crawling near a public toilet on March 6.

The snake was a spitting cobra, capable of shooting venom at its victims, with a range of several feet.

To protect her eyes, Ratha wore goggles and approached the cobra with caution while holding a snake hook. The female reptile was especially aggressive as it was breeding season for cobras.

The seasoned snake handler then carried the cobra to an open area on the road for more space. She tried to coax it into a plastic bottle, but its head was too large for the opening.

She managed to lure the cobra inside a fertiliser sack instead. The mission took around 10 minutes.

The cobra was later released into the wilderness away from homes.
