An allegedly drunk man crashed his car into a convenience store injuring a boy and his pregnant mum.

Charnchai, 40, pulled over his Mitsubishi Mirage outside while the store owner and her daughter sat at a table about 12ft away in Udon Thani province, Thailand on March 3 evening.

But a few moments later, the white SUV accelerated towards the shop, narrowly missing the women.

CCTV footage shows the out-of-control vehicle smashing tables and chairs in its path. The two women evaded the car before it went ramming through the shop's glass doors.

The store owner Nong Noey, 23, said: ‘We thought he was going to buy something but two minutes later, the car was coming towards us. It was one of the most terrifying things that happened to me.'

Nong Noey's five-year-old nephew was sitting inside the shop with his five-month-pregnant mother sustained minor injuries from being hit by the oncoming SUV.

She added: ‘He refused to admit he was drunk, but he later agreed to pay us. He said he worked at a national park.'

The driver promised to pay 45,000 baht to the store owner to cover the medicines and repair of the store.
