A newborn boy was found abandoned inside a parked motorcycle taxi in the Philippines.

The baby was covered in a white towel when he was discovered by the three-wheeled vehicle's owner in Bulacan province on March 2 afternoon.

Footage shows the infant taking a nap in the passenger's seat. A plastic bag containing infant bottles, cotton, and clothes was resting by the youngster's feet.

Carmela Galang who first saw the little boy said: ‘I was checking on my father's tricycle when I found the baby. felt sorry for him. Whoever did that was heartless.'

The baby was not crying when he was found but the noise from gathering onlookers seemingly woke the innocent boy up.

Carmela added: ‘I can't believe people can do that to a child. They should have given him to a charity instead of dumping him here.'

Police were called to the scene and took the baby to the hospital. He was given a health check and turned over to the social welfare department.

The investigating officers are now looking for the boy's parents.
