A mother stray cat pleaded with the driver to stop to save her kittens.

The feline blocked the driveway at a family's garage while meowing as a sedan was about to leave in Chachoengsao province, Thailand on March 4.

Natthanan Boontancharoenpong said the creature wouldn't leave the spot so she decided to turn the engine off.

She said the stray dashed under the vehicle, appearing to look for something before they heard the kittens softly crying.

Footage shows the worried mum-of-two standing her ground under the car by the engine to guard her babies. The driver pulled two kittens from the engine and adopted them with their mother.

Natthanan said: ‘I was afraid that if I didn't stop, I would run her over. I stopped to check on it and heard the meows when the engine was off.

‘Maybe she carried her babies into the engine to hide them while she looked for food. I felt sorry that they had no home. They will stay with us from now on.'
