Belfast, Northern Ireland 11 March 2023.

Hundreds of pro life supporters gathered in Custom House Square to protest against abortion and abortion legislation in Northern Ireland and elsewhere. The protest and rally had been organised by Rally for Life, an anti abortion charity.

The crowd was addressed by Father Sean Gough who had been arrested for praying near an abortion clinic in Birmingham. Although silent, the priest had been holding a sign reading “praying for free speech” and had a bumper sticker on his car reading “unborn lives matter.” It was alleged he had been violating the exclusion zone around the clinic.

The March for Life is an annual event held in different locations around the world, where pro-life advocates gather to peacefully protest against abortion to advocate for the protection of human life from conception to natural death.

On leaving Custom House Square the crowd walked to City Hall before returning to the Square to hear further speeches.
