An American driver was injured in a horror crash with a truck in Thailand.

David Andrew Rogers, 68, accidentally rear-ended the truck with his Nissan Navara while driving along Sukhumvit Road near the Srisuvit School in Pattaya on March 7.

The crash sent his vehicle flipping through the air and landing upside down on the pavement.

Police arrived at the scene after receiving a report at 12:30 AM on March 8. They found the pickup with its front completely destroyed.

Officers pulled the American national from the wreckage. He suffered a broken wrist, but refused to be taken to the hospital until his Thai girlfriend convinced him. He was treated at the local Bang Lamung Hospital.

Truck driver Kanit Usongtham, 54, said he had been driving an 18-wheeler to Laem Chabang Port when he heard a loud crash from behind.

He said he saw the pickup cart flip over, so he parked his truck to call for help.

Police Captain Manot Tipwet from the Bang Lamung district police station said both parties will be interrogated at the station to find the cause of the collision.
