A young man in Padang, named Rusydian, suddenly became rich because he succeeded in innovating low-priced flip-flops to become high-value after he carved the sandals.

The business of carving flip-flops that Rusydian is involved in begins by seeking new challenges in the art of carving.

"At first I was tired of carving on wood and other containers, so I tried to buy flip-flops for Rp. 10,000 Rupiah, then I carved a number of anime and posted them on social media. In the end, many were interested, and bid up to hundreds of thousands of rupiah," said Rusydian.

finally starting from this hobby, he innovated the price of flip-flops which he got cheap, after being carved by making anime characters, carving faces and making wall clocks, as well as innovation writing, this 26 year old young man earned a turnover of up to 30-50 million rupiahs per month.

"I sell a pair of carved sandals with motivational writing for 30 thousand rupiahs, while for those carved face and anime sketches, I sell a pair for 100 thousand rupiahs to 150 thousand rupiahs, with a monthly turnover of 30-50 million rupiahs,".

"The price of the sandals is taken from the level of complexity, like sketches of faces and anime that are very difficult, because it requires concentration, if it is wrong, the container is torn, you have to replace new flip-flops," he added.

Apart from word of mouth, Rusydian markets via social media such as Facebook and Instagram. video taken Monday, March 13, 2023.
