Employees bowed down at a team-building event in northern China.

Bizarre video filmed in the city of Taiyuan in Shanxi Province on March 13 shows more than a dozen of employees from a beauty company named Hua Jintang kneeling down on a stage when the host called on them to show their gratitude for their parents.

The hotel staff member said the event was a normal training session, which meant to build camaraderie and boost morale. While an employee of the beauty company claimed that it was actually part of a dance routine meant to express gratitude to their parents.

According to the regional manager for Hua Jintang’s Taiyuan branch, it was a simple part of the company's culture.

据了解，该公司各地年会新品发布会上，都有跪拜的环节。员工们大喊感谢公司给予平台，感谢顾客帮助实现梦想。太原花瑾堂区域经理回应，跪拜是企业文化，不方便对此表态。
