A guilty pet dog hid behind a clothes hamper after chewing on her owner's slippers.

Footage shows the four-month-old pooch named Bethel Bell burying her face behind the basket while Sheenyta Jane Tiu Go questioned her about the footwear in Zamboanga del Norte, Philippines on March 14.

The Beagle and Dachshund mix was dragged out of her hiding space but quickly returned, refusing to look at the woman.

But despite being reprimanded, the naughty pooch destroyed a pair of sneakers a few days later and amusingly avoided the interrogation.

Pet owner Sheenyta said: ‘I left her in the living room while I went to the toilet. I was only away for about 30 seconds but when I came out, the slippers were already destroyed.'
