A stray cat was rescued after falling from the window of a police station in Thailand.

The moggie was trapped on a narrow ledge of the Phimai Police Station in Nakhon Ratchasima province.

A rescue team went to the scene after receiving a report at 11:30 AM on March 7.

They found the feline stuck in the cramped space on the second floor of the station. They tried to pull it to safety using a snare, but were unsuccessful as there were blinds blocking the way.

They had to remove around six panels to create enough room to grab the cat - a white stray no more than a year old - which they grabbed by hand through a window.

A station cleaner said she did not know who the owner of the cat was.

The officers had called the volunteers after hearing the cat crying for several hours.
