The video was filmed on February 2, 2023, in the city of Balashikha, Russia, where the owner lives with Syoma. In the caption of the video, the owner also shared that Syoma was about 9 months old at the time of filming and had been living with them since August. They took him from a village where a cat, who also had a short tail like Syoma, gave birth to two kittens. Unfortunately, one did not survive, but the owner decided to shelter the second one, which is how Syoma became a part of their family.
