Viral on social media, a video of a ferry passenger suspected of being a Situbondo student was thrown into the sea while going home together to the Madura archipelago. The passenger is safe.

Seen in the video on Saturday (18/3/2023), the passenger suddenly plunged into the sea so that a number of crew and passengers wanted to help.

Fortunately, the Situbondo students can swim. Supported by the waves of the Madura Strait which were quite calm at the time of the incident, he did not sink.

The passengers, who are thought to be children and whose identities are not known for certain, were visited by a number of crew members and then given life jackets.

The ship's crew tried to pull the victim closer to the ship so that the person concerned could be put back on board.

"Thank God, the child survived, did not suffer any injuries," said the Coordinator of UPT Port Pemmpu Banyuwangi Rayon Working Area Anchor, Tri Wahyono, Saturday (18/3/2023).

Tri confirmed that the ferry which was traveling to the Madura archipelago was indeed carrying a number of Situbondo students. Santri from that area rushed home together to the Madura archipelago.

"Alhamdulillah, the Munggiyango Hulalo ferry which is carrying the students is currently docked at Kangean port," said Tri.

Tri explained that the crash site of the ship's passengers was still in the waters of Situbondo. This is because the incident occurred 1 hour after departing from the Anchor Port.

Previously, hundreds of students from the Salafiyah Syafi'iyah Islamic Boarding School, Sukorejo, and various Islamic boarding schools in Situbondo made their homecoming together on Thursday (16/3/2023).

The students went home together to several islands of Madura. They used several ferries departing from Anchor Port, Situbondo.
