Horse Carriages in Lampang, Thailand are prospering with the return of visitors

The railway at Lampang is associated with the city's horse carriages. The trains came in 1916 and the horses before then. There's a 'Train and Horse Carriages' festival every year, this year beginning on March 31.
It's the only city in Thailand with horse transport, nowadays for tourists who pay 400 Baht (GBP10) per carriage for a one hour city tour.
The horses are of Mongolian origin and work three or four hours daily. The drivers have secondary occupations and they dress like cowboys.
The locomotive is Japanese, manufactured in 1936.
