Animal rights protest in Valletta Malta

Protestors took to the streets of the capital of Malta to protest about the horse drawn carriages that are used to ferry tourists around the city.

A group from Malta marched through the capital with a police escort as they made there points with banners, loud hailers and drums.

The traditional karrozzin is one of the oldest forms of public transport in Malta, thought to date back to the mid-nineteenth century.

The animal rights group wanted to get there message over to local people and tourists as they feel that it is cruel for the animals and are not needed in today's society.
