Large metal reaction fire erupts in Somerset

A metal reaction fire erupted on Kewstoke Road near North Somerset on Saturday, March 18.

The fire involved mixed metal waste, batteries, and gas cylinders.

An Avon Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said at the time of the incident the following:

"At 8.32pm we were called to reports of a fire at Lower Kewstoke Road in Worle. We sent two fire engines to the scene.

"On arrival crews found a fire involving bags of waste. We then sent two further fire engines to the scene.

"There are currently four fire engines at the location in total. We are now working to extinguish the fire."
