This police officer named Aiptu Nasrul hands out free meals to kids whilst on his patrols around Padang, Indonesia.

Nasrul, who serves at North Padang Regional Police Station, prepares meals containing rice, fish, chicken, eggs, and vegetables to hand out to children.

"This nutrition house is a movement of my heart, knowing that Indonesian President Jokowi is trying to reduce the number of stunting cases in Indonesia which is quite high," said the police officer.

He added: "In a day I have to prepare a complete nutritious meal which is supervised by regional health workers here, all the money is purely from half my salary as an Indonesian police officer. Health workers also provide an understanding of the dangers of stunting to parents."

This is Aiptu Nasrul, an Indonesian police officer who is serving at the North Padang Regional Police Station.

At first glance, Nasrul looks the same as other police in Indonesia, serving as a police officer by guarding the area with his official car. however, after the middle-aged policeman returned from his office, Nasrul rushed to a nutrition house that he had built with his personal money to reduce stunting cases in the Padang city area, Koto Tangah sub-district. Besides building privately, the nutrition house founded by Nasrul prepares nutritious food for children every day in the form of rice, fish, chicken, eggs, vegetables and milk.

"This nutrition house is a movement of my heart, knowing that Indonesian President Jokowi is trying to reduce the number of stunting cases in Indonesia which is quite high," said Nasrul.

In one day, almost 20-30 children came to the Nasrul Nutrition Home with their parents. At the Nutrition House, all parents were given an understanding of the dangers of stunting for children, which was carried out by health workers in the Koto Tangah area to support the activities of the Nastul Nutrition House.

"In a day I have to prepare a complete nutritious meal which is supervised by regional health workers here, all the money is purely from half my salary as an Indonesian police officer. Health workers also provide an understanding of the dangers of stunting to parents,".

where the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia fell from 24.4% in 2021 to 21.6% in 2022. Indonesian President Joko Widodo said in the forum that stunting was not only a matter of height but the most dangerous thing was the low ability of children to learn, mental retardation, and thirdly the emergence of chronic diseases.

Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin hopes that during normal times this year the decline in stunting cases is expected to be even sharper so that the target of reducing stunting at 14% in 2024 can be achieved.
