A hapless pet dog was rescued after being found with its head stuck in a car wheel in Thailand.

The pet pooch was energetically playing in its owner's garage when it poked its head through the hole of the alloy wheel.

Concerned owner Somchai went to the local rescue centre in Chonburi province on March 19 as she could not free the dog on her own.

The volunteers first lubricated the dog's head with oil and tried to push it through the hole, but were unsuccessful.

They were eventually forced to use power tools to cut the wheel and release the frightened canine.

Animal rescue worker Wichai Kamchareon, 28, said: 'The owner sought help from us because her dog's head was stuck in the wheel. We tried everything, but in the end, we had to use cutters to free it. It took about 30 minutes.'
