Another video shows a man using a shovel to clear the ice from his car, which had been battered with hailstones the size of ping pong balls.
The hailstones were reported to have a maximum diameter of over 30 centimetres, roughly the same size as a marble.
According to reports, the hailstorm hit a total of 23 regions across Guizhou Province, leaving residents struggling to deal with the aftermath.
The impact of the hailstones caused significant damage to buildings, vehicles and other structures in the area.
